About Us

'With Habitar, we wanted to create a one-stop concierge service to help homeowners deal with their property related needs. We are committed to improve standards and help people to avoid rogue traders or bad workmanship.'

Who We Are

Habitar is an independent, architect-led service that helps homeowners maintain, improve, and adapt their homes with confidence.

We act as your personal home advisor and coordinator — someone you can call for honest guidance, reliable contacts, and well-organised work.

Our role is to simplify the process of looking after your home. Whether it’s a simple repair, a new kitchen, or adapting a property for later life, we take care of every detail — planning the work, sourcing trusted local trades, and ensuring everything is done properly and safely.

Because we’re independent professionals, we don’t sell products or take commission from contractors. Our only priority is you — your home, your comfort, and your peace of mind.

At heart, we bring the rigour and integrity of architectural practice into everyday home care: clear thinking, calm coordination, and an insistence on quality.

Our Principles

Our primary aim is to make the process of dealing with your property needs as simple, accessible and stress-free as possible. We act as your agent, looking after your interests with professionalism and integrity at all times.

  • We’re not a building company .

  • We’re not an online platform .

  • We’re your trusted partner for everything home.

To ensure we deliver this we work to the following three core principles:

Integrity

We work for you and are independent of the tradespeople who carry out the work. This means we act for you at all times

Clarity

We keep you informed and explain things simply. No jargon, no hidden costs. You always know what’s happening and when.

Professionalism

We are an Architect-run advisory service, not just a listing site, ensuring clear, professional advice at all times.

How It All Began

When my elderly mother decided it was time to leave her bungalow and move into a care home, my brothers and I had to organise her relocation and sale — even though none of us lived nearby. Then disaster struck: a frozen pipe burst and flooded the entire property.

As an architect, I was able to take charge — finding and coordinating plumbers, joiners, plasterers, and decorators to complete repairs in time for the sale. But it made me realise how difficult this would be for someone without the contacts, experience, or technical knowledge to deal with it — especially from a distance.

That experience was the seed of Habitar: a service that helps homeowners and their families look after their homes with the same care and attention we gave our own.
